Wild beaches near Uroczysko Salinko: Lubiatowo, Białogóra, Dębki — the Polish Baltic coast without the crowds

The Salinko house at dusk against the forest, a secluded house near the wild Baltic beaches

Most English-language guides to the Polish Baltic stop at Łeba and its moving dunes, and skip the quieter stretch just to the east — the coast between Białogóra and Lubiatowo. That is a shame, because this is some of the wildest shoreline in the country: broad sand, pine forest right down to the dunes, and, on most days, hardly anyone in sight. Every beach below is within 30 minutes' drive of Uroczysko Salinko, so a beach morning and a sauna evening fit comfortably into the same day.

Lubiatowo & the White Dune

The closest wild beach to the house, 21 km away — about 25 minutes by car. A gravel car park at the edge of the forest, then a short walk on a marked nature trail through the dunes before the sea opens up. The White Dune sits just north of the main access point and is worth the extra ten minutes: a bare, pale ridge of sand rising out of the pines. What you will not find here is a promenade, a row of bars or sun-lounger rental — Lubiatowo is sand, forest and horizon, nothing arranged for you.

Kopalino

A near-neighbour of Lubiatowo, 21 km and 26 minutes away, reached through the forest on a smaller access road rather than a signposted car park. It is the beach we send guests to when Lubiatowo already has a handful of cars on it — the walk in is a little longer, the beach itself just as wide, and outside July and August you can easily have a few hundred metres of it to yourself. No facilities of any kind, so bring water and, if you're staying past midday, something to eat.

Sasino

Sasino lies 23 km from the house, roughly 29 minutes by car, and is really a village behind the dunes rather than a resort. The beach is broad and open, with a small, informal parking area at the end of the access road. It rarely feels crowded even in the height of summer, and it makes a good starting point for a long walk east towards Białogóra along the sand rather than the road.

Białogóra

At 24 km and about 28 minutes, Białogóra is one of the wider beaches on this stretch, backed by tall, actively shifting dunes and a dense pine forest that keeps the wind off the car park. There are a handful of seasonal kiosks near the access path in summer, but nothing resembling a promenade — once you're past the dunes, it's just sand and sea. On a clear day, the lighthouse at nearby Stilo (Ostrowo) makes a natural extension of the walk, about 50 minutes further along the coast road.

Dębki & the Piaśnica river mouth

Dębki, 28 km away and around 35 minutes by car, is the liveliest of these villages in season — small shops, a few cafés — but the beach itself is still wide and unmanicured, and the mouth of the Piaśnica river running into the Baltic is the most photogenic spot on this stretch of coast. Kayak trips down the Piaśnica end here, right on the sand, which makes Dębki a good half-day plan rather than just a beach stop.

Łeba and the moving dunes — the day trip

Łeba sits 42 km from the house, about 48 minutes by car, and is worth the extra distance for the Słowiński National Park's moving dunes alone — a genuine desert landscape shifting several metres a year, with the forest visibly disappearing beneath the sand at its edges. Łeba itself is a proper seaside town, with a harbour, restaurants and a promenade, so it's the obvious choice on a day when you want company rather than solitude. We usually suggest treating it as a full day out: dunes in the morning, lunch by the harbour, and back to the meadow before dinner.

Back on the meadow: sauna instead of WiFi

There is no WiFi at Uroczysko Salinko, and no TV — on purpose. After a day on an empty beach, the point is not to come back and start scrolling; it's to light the sauna, watch the meadow turn from gold to grey to deep blue through the window, and then step outside onto wet grass to cool off. Once it's properly dark, with no streetlights for kilometres, the sky over the meadow fills with more stars than most guests have seen in years.

All of the beaches above are close enough to combine with a slow, unplanned kind of holiday. See the house for what's waiting for you back at Salinko, or check availability and prices to plan your dates.
